BVB youth despite the derby
In the semi-final second leg of the championship round, the A-youth of Borussia Dortmund had to accept a 0-1 defeat on Saturday in the district derby against FC Schalke 04. However, the BVB offspring achieved the final.
In the second duel with the royal blue, Borussia successfully managed its clear lead from the 5-1 backlog. The narrows meanwhile ran courageously and tried everything to turn the result around.
However, the eleven of coach Norbert Elgert did not want to succeed more than the goal for 1-0 by Gideon Guzy (69.) in front of 650 spectators in the Gelsenkirchen Park Stadium.
The outstanding Dortmund Sturmduo from Bradley Fink and Julian Rijkhoff, on the other hand, made the Schalke largely cold. Except for two options by Fink (11th, 66th), the team of BVB coach Mike Tullberg remained without a punch.
In the meantime, Schalke would have even added almost more goals in the final phase. Leo soft’s header was revoked due to an offside position (76.). In injury time, the Dortmund goalkeeper Silas Ostrzinski also thwarted another major chance from Arbnor Aliu.
BVB travels to Berlin for the final
While the Schalke can comfort themselves with a derby victory over leaving the U19 championship, Borussia’s youngsters suffered its first defeat of the season at the national level. In the regular season, the BVB Youngster 14 of their 16 games won in the Bundesliga West and played two draws.
Due to the strong balance sheet and the experience from the first leg, the district club should therefore still go into the final for the championship with confidence.
On May 29, the Dortmunders travel to Berlin for the title showdown. The final rises on a side place of the Olympic Stadium. There is also a big name of youth football with the Hertha. The capital club had prevailed in the semi -finals with two wins (3: 1 and 2: 0) against FC Augsburg.
