City approves expansion of Eintracht
The city of Frankfurt has approved the expansion of the football stadium of Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.
Mike Josefs decor Mike Josef (SPD) had symbolically presented the building permit on the occasion of the game on Sunday against Sc Freiburg (1: 2), the association communicated.
Deutsche Bank Park is to be extended by 11,000 standing places to then 60,000 seats.
“Building start is in late autumn, then it really starts. I’m really looking forward to the city and for Eintracht Frankfurt,” Josef said.
“We fought a few years for a standstill expansion,” announced Announcements CEO Axel Hellmann.
“We have fought back then that there are still standing places still before 18 years ago – when planning the stadium. Now we have reached another great goal.”
