The publication of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was postponed at the beginning of the year by a few months. Instead of April 2022, a new release date for 8 December 2022 was set. Now, the Ukraine Developer Studio GSC Game Studio is forced to postpone the publication date. This time but indefinite time. Reason for this is of course the war in Ukraine, who was triggered by the invasion of Russia.

The team gave the decision to lay the development on ice in a video. Under the title “Light! Camera! War…” they explained how their world has become another by Russian invasion. Actually, they wanted to show their progress with the action shooter and introduce the motion capture studio in which they bring the characters from the game to life. For the developers, however, the security of employees and their families has the highest priority. In the video you write: “The game development was relocated to the sideline. But we will definitely continue. After victory”.
